Backyard Hope, Inc. will host a Ribbon Cutting Celebration on Friday, November 21st at 2:30 PM to officially open its new location and unveil its newest community initiative — Essentials Express, a mobile van dedicated to delivering hygiene, clothing, and essential care items directly to individuals and families in need throughout the Mohawk Valley.
The ribbon cutting will take place at Backyard Hope’s home at 1557 Steuben Street, Suite 4, Utica, NY, with local officials, community partners, and supporters in attendance. Guests are invited to learn about Backyard Hope’s mission, and get a first look at the Essentials Express van before it hits the road to serve the community.
Founded by Danielle Padula, Backyard Hope is a nonprofit organization focused on uplifting youth and families through programs that meet basic needs, foster empowerment, and create opportunities for connection. The organization operates several community-driven projects, including The Community Closet and now Essentials Express, which expands its reach by bringing vital resources directly into neighborhoods, schools, and shelters.
“Essentials Express represents the heart of what we do — meeting people where they are,” said Danielle Padula, Founder and Executive Director of Backyard Hope. “This mobile unit allows us to remove barriers and ensure every child, teen, and adult in our community has access to the essentials that make them feel seen, supported, and cared for.”
The public and media are encouraged to attend. Refreshments will be provided
