Fine Arc Ribbon Cutting

Wednesday, April 9, 2025 (11:30 AM - 12:30 PM) (EDT)

Description

The Arc, Oneida-Lewis Chapter’s Fine Arc program will host an official ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday, April 9th at 11:30 a.m. to celebrate the program’s move to a new, larger space at 239 Genesee Street in The M (formerly the Mayro Building) at the corner of Genesee Street and Bank Place in downtown Utica. This expansion allows the program to serve more people while becoming a visible part of Utica’s vibrant downtown scene and emerging arts district.

Founded in 2010, Fine Arc provides a creative hub for people with developmental disabilities who have a passion for the fine arts. The program encourages artists to explore a variety of artistic mediums, nurturing their unique talents and self-expression.

Currently, 30 people are enrolled in the program, working alongside skilled instructors who provide guidance and support. Through their art, participants experience empowerment, connection, and personal growth.

Fine Arc artists have earned numerous awards in statewide art competitions, gaining recognition for their exceptional work. Their artwork is available for purchase, with artists receiving the majority share of each sale after covering material costs. Pieces can be purchased by appointment by calling 315-927-0290, emailing arcpr@thearcolc.org, or messaging the program on Facebook.
