Today we honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his legacy on our country.

As we remember all that King stood for, it's important to highlight his role in civic engagement. Civic engagement begins with education, critical thinking, and the courage to speak up about community issues.

That is why we're excited to announce The 2026 National Civics Bee. It gives Greater Utica–area students in grades 6–8 the opportunity to do just that by writing a short essay connecting civics to real-world solutions. This nationwide competition builds leadership skills while offering students the chance to earn cash prizes, technology, scholarships, and even a trip to Washington, D.C.

👉Educators, parents, and principals—encourage your 6th–8th grade students (public, private, charter, or homeschool) to submit their essays by February 3, 2026. 🔗Full details and the essay portal are available at the link in our bio.

Better Together Support and Advocacy is a community of parents and family members who have loved ones with Intellectual and Development Disabilities and other special needs. This space was specifically created for people with disabilities and autism in mind. 🧩

We're proud to have been a part of their grand opening, celebrating not only their establishment, but as well as inclusion for all.
