Black River Systems Company, a small, established research-oriented engineering firm headquartered in Utica, NY is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer and/or Product Engineer at our Utica, NY location. We are looking for someone with a Mechanical Engineering background who will be highly motivated and experienced in using the right manufacturing methods and engineering skills to develop and execute production for our product line. This candidate will be responsible for overseeing the manufacturing process of our product line to ensure it meets our company’s high- quality standards. This position will require the ability to organize and manage manufacturing workflows and resources by analyzing production processes, methods, materials, labor, schedules etc. to support management with their planning efforts. This candidate will collaborate with a team that will include engineers, contractors, vendors, and suppliers.

Position Requirements/Responsibilities:

• Bachelor of science or master’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing.
• Experience in DoD environment.
• Knowledge of manufacturing equipment, quality assurance and quality control.
• Solid communication, documentation, and collaborative/teamwork skills.
• Ability to develop product strategies and communicate recommendations to executives effectively.
• Ability to analyze manufacturing and test plans.
• Ability to organize and manage manufacturing workflows and resources by analyzing production processes, schedules, methods, labor, materials.
• Develop design ideas based on customer needs, budgets, and market research.
• Applicants must have or be eligible for a Department of Defense security clearance.
