Staffworks is recruiting for a results proven Director of Development for Anita’s Stevens Swan Humane Society (ASSHS) in Utica, NY.

ASSHS is a 113 year old nonprofit, no-kill companion animal shelter dedicated to giving neglected and unwanted pets a second chance in life through adoption. Each year, over 1500 pets are cared for until we find the right adopter match.

Director of Development responsibilities:

• Create and manage a comprehensive annual development and fundraising plan with budget and projected net outcomes that support a pre-determined portion of annual operating costs.

• Secure new donors and cultivate existing donor relationships with individuals and sponsors.

• Grow and manage general community-wide giving with digital campaigns, promotions, events.

• Maintain a grant program, identify new grants, write grant requests, and meet grant deadlines.

• Initiate government, foundation, and corporate funding.

• Manage donor database, maintain guidelines for usage, reporting, stewardship, and gift acknowledgements.

• Prepare reports and presentations related to development and fundraising.

• Create, development, and fundraising policies and procedures.

Minimum four-year degree and 5 years’ experience in development and fundraising.

Salary Range: $55,000/yr to $70,000/yr
