Volunteers, donors, and the general public are welcomed to the newly established Utica Creative Reuse (UCR) arts and crafts thrift store at 734 Columbia Street to celebrate its official grand opening. Utica Creative Reuse is a nonprofit organization dedicated to diverting usable materials from the waste stream and advancing access to arts education in CNY. Community donations of unwanted arts and crafts supplies find new homes through our arts & crafts supply thrift shop and support our free programming focused on reuse, repair, and creativity.
Since its founding in 2023, Utica Creative Reuse has diverted more than 11,000 pounds of materials from the landfill and hosted more than 160 events, serving over 2,500 people at various locations around CNY. Thanks to the enthusiastic support we've received from the residents of CNY and beyond, we're thrilled to welcome the community to visit our new thrift shop and event space, and celebrate the opening of the first creative reuse center in Utica.
Please join us Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at 3:30pm for a ribbon cutting celebrating the grand opening of Utica Creative Reuse at 734 Columbia Street, Utica, NY 13502. Light refreshments will be served.
Information about donations of materials, upcoming free workshops, and other UCR programs is available online at uticacreativereuse.org and on multiple social media platforms: linktr.ee/uticacreativereuse.
