The Mohawk Valley Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and the New York SBDC will present the Procurement Business of the Year award to BGM Supply on July 30th. This annual award recognizes a New York State business for excellence in government contracting. BGM Supply is a wholesale plumbing and heating supply company providing products and mechanical systems for over 60 years. BGM Supply owner Mary Shepherd is a Mohawk Valley SBDC client, and the business is certified as a Women-Owned Business Enterprise in New York State. Following the award presentation, the Greater Utica Chamber of Commerce will lead a ribbon-cutting ceremony for BGM's new warehouse. The award presentation and ribbon cutting will take place at 2:30 PM on July 30th at BGM Supply’s warehouse located at 1400 Broad Street in Utica. The event will feature speakers including New York State Representative Marianne Buttenschon, MVCC President Dr. Randall VanWagoner, New York SBDC State Director Sonya Smith, and representatives from the Mohawk Valley SBDC and the Greater Utica Chamber of Commerce. After the ribbon cutting ceremony, guests are invited to stay for light refreshments and a tour of the BGM Supply facility.
