Join us on Thursday, October 16th at Munson as pieces of heART presents “ABLE: Art By Lived Experience”, an art exhibition being held in celebration of Upstate Caring Partners’ 75th Anniversary. This exhibition will highlight the progression of ten featured artists, showing works that demonstrate their artistic growth since joining the pieces of heART program, as well as paintings and ceramic pottery from many others. This gallery viewing will be free and open to the public. Pieces of heART is a creative expression program of Upstate Caring Partners, featuring artistic works in a variety of media. Multitalented adult artists, ranging in age and ability, create art with a common goal of self-expression. Each artist has a unique style and uses an array of tools and techniques specific to them to create their work. "It is an incredible opportunity to work with Munson to celebrate the agency’s 75th anniversary” said Lindsay Giannatelli, Recreation Therapy Specialist and exhibit curator for Upstate Caring Partners. “To display the artist’s work in a fine art museum is to celebrate the continuous hard work that goes into creating their art. We hope the community will join us for this incredibly important occasion.” The art exhibit will be up for one day only from 3 to 8pm, with an opening reception planned for the gallery opening. Munson is located at 310 Genesee Street in Utica. Art will be available for purchase and light refreshments will be provided.
