Ribbon Cutting: Knead to Eat 10th Anniversary

Knead to Eat Bakery and Cafe is proudly celebrating 10 years of serving the Utica community while entering an exciting new chapter of growth. The locally owned bakery and cafe has expanded its dining area, creating additional seating and a more comfortable, welcoming space for guests.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place on Monday, September 28, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Knead to Eat Bakery and Cafe, located at 53 Franklin Square in Utica. Members of the community, local leaders and the media are invited to attend and celebrate this important milestone.

For the past decade, Knead to Eat has built its reputation on serving freshly prepared breakfast and lunch dishes, crepes, pastries, specialty coffee and seasonal creations. The cafe takes pride in making its food from scratch using fresh, high-quality ingredients.

“This expansion represents much more than adding extra seating,” said co-owner Douglas Allen. “It represents 10 years of hard work, growth and support from our incredible community. We are deeply grateful to every customer who has walked through our doors and helped make Knead to Eat what it is today.”

Co-owner Jason Allen-Leonard added, “We are excited to welcome our customers into the expanded space and continue creating a place where people can gather, enjoy great food and feel at home. This is an important step forward for Knead to Eat and for our future.”

The expansion will allow Knead to Eat to serve more customers while maintaining the personal service, quality and comfortable atmosphere that have become central to the cafe’s identity.

Looking ahead, Douglas Allen and Jason Allen-Leonard plan to continue strengthening the Knead to Eat brand, developing new menu offerings and exploring opportunities for future growth. Their long-term vision includes bringing the Knead to Eat experience to additional communities while remaining committed to the customers and community that supported the original Utica location.
