Ribbon Cutting: Run of the Mill Liquors Grand Opening

Run of the Mill Liquors will celebrate its official grand opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony in partnership with the Greater Utica Chamber of Commerce on Friday, October 9, 2026, at 3:30 p.m.

 Located at 1960 NYS Route 8 in Clayville, Run of the Mill Liquors was founded by Steve Lowe and Tanner Stewart with a straightforward goal: to provide a convenient and accessible wine and spirits store for the local community and commuters traveling through the area. 

The store is located within the historic Latus Mill, and preserving the character of the building was an important part of the project from the beginning. Renovations were intentionally designed around the mill’s existing rustic character, incorporating a farmhouse-inspired feel while preserving elements that reflect the building’s history.

 The result is a unique retail space that feels distinctly different from a typical liquor store while bringing a new business and new activity to the historic property. 

“For us, this was really about creating something convenient for the people who live here and those who travel through the area every day,” said co-owner Steve Lowe. “At the same time, we had an opportunity to bring a new business into the Latus Mill and continue breathing life back into a building that has been part of this community for a long time. We wanted the store to feel like it belonged here, so maintaining the character of the building was important to us throughout the renovation.”

 Run of the Mill Liquors offers a broad selection of wines and spirits in an approachable, easy-to-shop environment designed to serve both everyday customers and those looking to discover something new. 

The October 9 ribbon cutting will bring together representatives from the Greater Utica Chamber of Commerce, local business leaders, customers, friends and members of the community to officially welcome Run of the Mill Liquors.
