Description

The Portal is a modern wellness and creative studio in Utica’s historic Bagg’s Square, founded by Chelan Vanno, former federal strategist, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, and the visionary behind CP Innovations Group.

After a 20-year career leading high-level operational and organizational projects, Chelan created The Portal as a place where clarity, connection, and inspired thinking are made accessible to both individuals and organizations. The Portal hosts sound immersions, wellness classes, curated gatherings, and leadership-focused team experiences. 

Through CP Innovations, Chelan also provides organizational consulting, strategic immersions, and executive facilitation for companies across the region by helping teams identify friction, align around vision, and move forward with more coherence and momentum. Guests visiting The Portal can expect a beautifully designed, sensory environment that blends nervous-system awareness with modern strategy. It’s a space where people can slow down, think clearly, and connect in meaningful ways—whether they’re attending a wellness event or exploring new approaches to leadership and organizational development. 

Event Features: Guests will enjoy a curated experience featuring an artisan tea bar, infused wellness waters, and regional New York kombucha, along with light bites and an opportunity to explore The Portal’s intentionally designed studio. Attendees can learn from founder Chelan Vanno about CP Innovations’ Strategic Immersions, full-day experiences that help leadership teams gain clarity, reduce friction, and align around actionable priorities. You’ll also be among the first to hear about The Resonant Leader™, Chelan’s new immersive program for executives who want a more grounded, holistic, and effective approach to leadership by combining practical strategy with nervous-system awareness and communication mastery. 

Food by Feast & Festivities.Guests will receive individual curated box lunches rather than traditional catering. Cristi Kaido of The Mindful Mixer will be providing the drink experience for the evening.
